Tony Hseih, the former CEO of Zappos, once said “Work and personal life seems to meld together in a way that can be either enhancing or debilitating – and it is up to each person to structure what works in their life and in ways that allow them to be their best in work and at home.”
If you’ve been in real estate for any amount of time you’ve likely seen this play out in real time. People start working and clients / transactions completely consume their life leaving them overweight, stressed, on the verge of divorce, their dogs do not recognize them when they get home and yet they’re making a decent income. They fail to counter-balance or learn how to integrate their work life and personal life in order to find success and balance. I personally believe that there isn’t a better industry to execute the work life integration lead generation strategy than real estate. Before I can give examples let’s talk about the different areas of life that can be integrated. Health, finances, spiritual, personal, relationships, business/job. Each one of us is in a constant struggle to counterbalance these areas of our life and your database is no exception. Sitting in your database now is a successful business person that needs help with health. There is a healthy person that needs help with business. There is someone with great relationships that struggles to find the spiritual aspect of life. A work life integration strategy allows you to become the catalyst between your database and the area of their life that needs improvement. Helping them improve these areas while helping yourself do the same is a value add to their life no other agent or real estate portal can duplicate. This is building a moat around your business.
Now you want examples?
Organize yoga in the park every Mon, Wed, and Friday. Invite everyone in your database and farm community to participate in a FREE yoga class 3 days per week. If no one shows up, who cares. You needed to do yoga anyway
Arrange for an asset planning attorney to host a seminar/webinar for everyone in your database.
Find a local 5k,10k, marathon and invite everyone in your farm area and/or database to participate with you. If no one shows up, who cares. You needed to do the 5k anyway
Plan a hike on a local trail and invite your database and farm area. If no one shows up, who cares. You wanted to go hiking anyway.
Organize the cleanup of a local beach, park, lake, community center, etc etc and invite your database and farm area to join. If no one shows up, who cares. You wanted your beach cleaned up anyway.
I can go on for days. The important thing is you select something you need in your life. Something you enjoy that’s going to give you physical and/or emotional income even if no one shows up. Once people start to participate you’ve now surrounded yourself with like minded people who enjoy doing the same activities you do which will result in financial income.
