Are you feeling overwhelmed?

What if I told you overwhelm isn’t the problem, it’s a symptom?

Overwhelm is a symptom of a lack of prioritization.

Over the last month or so I’ve watched countless agents go into complete overwhelm due to their kids going back to school. In many cases, these parents have not had to go through a traditional school morning and afternoon routine in over a year. They’ve settled into a new schedule that didn’t involve cramming breakfast down their kids throats while rushing out the door to sit in a drop offline for 20 minutes. That schedule has become quite comfortable and all of a sudden their world is upside down. They have the pressure of running their business and now pick up, drop off sports, clubs, and the dreaded homework. They just got new items tossed onto their plate that are very important and need to be reprioritized into the day. When something like this happens and we fail to reassess our priorities it’s a recipe for disaster.

If you’re in this situation or something similar that causes you to feel overwhelmed takes an inventory of the things you currently have on your plate. Re-prioritize the tasks and start at the top. Find items that can be delegated and if something does get dropped at least you know it will be the least important item.
