You may have heard industry leaders talk about building a moat around your database. What exactly does that mean? How do you  protect your relationships from industry disruptors? My personal opinion is your relationships have to be deep. They can’t be surface level. Deep relationships have context, time, and require effort. Meaning you share a common interest, a common goal, a common hangout, etc etc and you work to maintain. Relationships without context and regular maintenance are subject to disruption. Over the last few weeks I’ve talked a lot about work life integration. In my opinion this is the key to building the proverbial moat. I’d encourage each of you to do an audit of your entire database. Look at each individual person and ask yourself if you have context with that person or if it’s a surface level relationship. If we’re going to protect your business from industry disruptors or a shifting market we’re going to have to take every relationship and create context and then go out and create new relationships. Thursday March 30th I’m hosting a free one hour webinar to deep dive into building out a work life integration plan for your database. Register using this link
