If you’ve worked with me at all you’ve heard me say money is a great motivator until there is enough. The challenge is that once the majority of the people have “enough” they take their foot off the gas pedal. In this case “enough” can be roughly defined as a lifestyle above a middle class lifestyle. Once you have enough you wake up one day and have to face the cold hard truth that you weren’t in fact following your passion you were chasing income and you’re left with the choice of facing your own demons to dig deep and future out what you really want to accomplish in your life or settle and continue to make enough because you’re living a life that most others dream of.

Very often many of us start in the real estate industry for the freedom, flexibility, and unlimited income possibilities yet most business owners get to the income they need and they stop. When looking at the very best in any industry in the world they all have one thing in common and that is they weren’t willing to stop when they had enough. They pushed themselves to be the best they could be. They wanted to find their limits and/or they were driven by a bigger purpose.

Don’t get me wrong, money can be a great motivator. Especially when you find yourself without it and you need to take action to survive or to dig yourself out of a hole. With that said if we spend our entire life chasing money we will never know our full potential and we’ll never reach a point where we accomplish our purpose. Have you settled for enough?
