What makes Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, etc etc so successful? They’re nothing but giant databases with boat loads of information about what we like, what we interact with, what we do for fun, where we travel, who our friends are, and everything else you can imagine. We all get that at some level yet when we look at our real estate database we go crazy trying to figure out what it actually is. Your dentist has a database, your grocery store has a database, your community crossfit has a database. The sad thing is many of our real estate businesses generate far more income and are far more profitable than these other businesses yet we have such a difficult time figuring out what to do with this group of people.
I’m going to keep it simple for you…
- It doesn’t matter if it’s a spreadsheet or a CRM. You want your contacts organized in a way that you can call, text, email, or social media message easily.
- You want information on family, hobbies, likes, dislikes, travel, etc (context)
- You want to communicate with it regularly using different means.
- You want to invite them to events both large and small
- You want to predictably add value
- Market updates
- Vendor list
- Etc
…and you’re done. Don’t over complicate it.
